Amy Barley
DO
Amy Barley, DO, joined the Boone Heart Institute in 2026 after serving as Clinical Director of Cardiology and Associate Head of Clinical Affairs at the University of Colorado Hospital. Dr. Barley is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Barley cites a strong family history of cardiovascular disease as a key factor in her choice of cardiology and has developed a strong personal passion for the prevention of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease over the course of her career. She completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and her internal medicine residency training, a year as chief resident, and cardiovascular fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She remained on faculty at Allegheny General Hospital as core clinical faculty for the cardiovascular fellowship and served as medical director for the Coronary Care Unit prior to relocating to Colorado with her family in 2016.
Dr. Barley believes lifestyle medicine is the base of preventive care, and that our daily choices can work synergistically with modern medicine to prevent not only cardiovascular disease, but many chronic cardiometabolic conditions. She enjoys hiking, skiing, strength training, gardening, reading, and time with her children, dog, and cat.
