SPECIAL OPTIONS FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION’S HEART CARE
We are the world’s leading preventive cardiology team on a mission to eradicate heart attack and stroke in the 21st century. Our focus on prevention, early detection, and aggressive treatment is designed to stop cardiovascular problems before they become life-altering events. Here are some of our specialty programs to help you become heart healthy!
BRAVEHEART PROGRAM – MAKING SURE YOU’LL BE THERE WHEN WE NEED YOU MOST
Jeffrey L. Boone, M.D., started the BraveHeart Program in 2005 in response to the startling heart attack rates among active firefighters. BraveHeart is custom tailored to the high-intensity, high-stress work environment of firefighting.
The BraveHeart Program is a mobile, on-site screening that can evaluate 50 individuals per day for cardiovascular risk. The screening can be customized to fit the department’s budget. Because heart disease affects everyone, all other employees, spouses, friends, or relatives are welcome for testing at the same rate.
Dr. Boone is an internationally recognized expert on the effects of mental and physical stress on the heart, which led him to his work with firefighters and other high-stress populations, including law enforcement officers and professional athletes. In 2007, he was selected as one of the 160 Top Doctors in America by Men’sHealth Magazine, and listed as one of the 17 Top Cardiovascular Doctors in America for Men. The BraveHeart Program’s cutting-edge testing, combined with Dr. Boone’s unique stress expertise, make this program essential for firefighter wellness.
PROHEART MD – PROTECTING AN ATHLETE’S MOST VALUABLE ASSET
Being a professional athlete can be both physically and mentally demanding. The pressure to perform at such a high-level combined with the stresses of a high profile job make professional athletes extremely prone to stress related illnesses. The Boone Heart Institute developed the ProHeartMD Program to provide stress assessment and cardiovascular risk testing for active professional athletes. A healthy heart and vascular system are central to maintaining optimum physical performance levels, as well as a long, happy life.
The Boone Heart Institute is also deeply invested in caring for retired professional athletes. In the years following retirement, former athletes often see their health decline rapidly due to a dramatic decrease in daily physical activity. The combination of the stress put on your heart during their playing days and this dramatic lifestyle change can lead to tragic results. Within five years of retirement, every retired professional athlete should have a full examination to get a picture of their cardiovascular status as they begin the next phase of their life.
The following groups are actively involved in the ProHeartMD program. We believe they should be looked at as the gold standard for player care in professional sports.
CORPORATE WELLNESS PROGRAM – PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS
We understand not everyone has the resources to visit our Executive Program. Therefore, the Boone Heart Institute has developed a way to bring our cutting-edge preventive cardiology practices to your office in a cost effective manner.
The people with the power to change health care in this country are not working in hospitals, at insurance companies, or on Capitol Hill. They are the business leaders of America. America’s CEOs, small business owners, and entrepreneurs have pushed America to the forefront of nearly every industry, yet our health care system remains mired in red tape and reactive thinking. It’s time for business innovators to start taking ownership of their companies’ health. Our Corporate Wellness Program is the first step.
As Benjamin Franklin famously said, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” While preventing a single employee heart attack will pay for the program twice over, the added benefits of EveryHeart include increases in quality of life, reduced absenteeism, and improved overall productivity. A healthy company is a happy company.
